A McRound Up and THAT email...

Sorry for not blogging lately.  So many of you are doing a wonderful job persistently highlighting the flaws in this case.  I'm in awe of you all.  I'm still here, watching and waiting.

There was a flurry of news recently which most of you already know about.

Scotland Yard arrived in Porto to meet with their Portuguese counterparts.  Here's hoping it's all for good reasons and we'll see the reopening of the case.

We had yet another fake sighting of Madeleine, this time in Brazil which, thanks to Pamalam and Reggie Dunlop of the Maddie Case Files was revealed to be an Associated Press photo of a bomb scare at Ibiza airport.  Watch on YouTube

Next the McCanns bizarrely tried to back out of legal action, by asking Goncalo Amaral to settle out of court.  I say bizarre, because the McCanns are the claimants.  It's what we all expected really, isn't it? Watch on YouTube

Next week they take Tony Bennett to court.  A David and Goliath challenge where the claimants have a full array of legal eagles serving them, and the man in the corner has no-one.  Let's hope Mr B can find Goliath's achilles heel.  Watch on YouTube

And last but not least... a little nugget that's doing the rounds.  An email from the Missing Abroad charity in response to a query from a member of the public as to why Madeleine doesn't have her own page or free, downloadable poster.  Why she doesn't warrant a single mention on the site at all.  Read it and weep, folks.  Read it and weep...
RE: [Missing Abroad - Missing Person Enquiries] M Mccann

Thanks for your email.
Every time a new missing person profile is added to our website it is only with the express approval or request of the immediate family or guardian.
The day Madeleine was reported missing we offered our services and we did run a profile of her for a while, however the McCann’s staff contacted us and asked us to take it off the site as they had their own campaigns and didn’t require our help.
Kate is aware of the services we offer and indeed I have worked with her on the All Party Parliamentary Group dealing with Missing and Runaway Children and Adults.
Of course if it is requested we would immediately place a new profile on our website, but as long as they don’t ask, I’m afraid Madeleine won’t be on there.
I hope that answers your query?
Best wishes,

At the time, Missing Abroad operated under the name of The Lucie Blackman Trust.  Today, they issued a statement confirming the following...
We were called by a member of staff helping the McCann family who asked us to remove the content.  Therefore we removed the links and banner from the website.

Please visit the excellent Missing Abroad website - they do great work in highlighting the missing - you may just recognise someone. Unfortunately and although she is still missing abroad nearly 6 years on, Madeleine does not feature on the site.

Please also have a look at HideHo's excellent videos on YouTube or visit the forums for more information on the case... Maddie Case Files and The Complete Mystery of Madeleline McCann for starters.

  1. oh dear

let's get to first name terms, ''Kate''

oh this so reminds me of the correspondence call me 'Stu' senior LP police officer attempting to get participation in the reconstruction.

There are certain forms of etiquette in everyday life, irrespective of the informality of the internet and when you refer to someone you don't really know or the person to whom you addressing doesn't the person either. You address them formally.

And that is where and why this whole case falls apart - INFORMALITY and blossoming friendships.

It's the reading between the lines! occasionally more than the content.

  2. Weird...why would the McCanns refuse FREE help? It would cost them nothing and it was one more way to make Madeleine's disappearance divulged worldwide. Weren't/aren't they always complaining they are alone in the search for Madeleine, that no one helps them...?

  3. There have several episodes or events that have made clear they do not want madeleine to be found, or they know she cannot be found. The 800 line that was not watched, the coloboma oh no it's just a fleck, Kate refusing to answer the 48 questions, so this is no surprise.
On the other side I would not be surprised that there was a kind of attempt to symbiose: the MA would have profited from the link since there was a lot of interest in Madeleine at the time. The McCanns have always hated it if someone tried to profit from them. Their "not for profit" stands for "not for profit for anyone but me".
In the spirit of these times nobody let a good tragedy pass unused, paraphrasing a certain politician. I am sure that many of those "charities" have just shown their "support" because of the extra exposition they would get.

  4. Were the posters on the MA site free? They are for sale in packs on the Mccanns website aren't they?

  5. Kate McCann, a new Ambassador for Missing People, said:

When your child goes missing you want the whole world to stop and join the search. Missing People, the Outdoor Media Centre and its members are providing an unprecedented opportunity to help safely reconnect missing children.

  8. I don't understand how one could say the Mcs don't want their daughter found. Nobody could possibly have done more than they have to keep her name before the public, internationally at that. Not content with conducting their own investigations, inevitably amateur without official police support, they have worked hard to (a) get the official Portuguese investigation reopened, and (b) get an official review conducted by the Met. They've achieved the second aim but not as yet the first. (Not that I blame the Portuguese authorities for that. They say they have no new evidence to justify reopening, which would cost a lot of money.)

MA's two responses to the email don't tally, but that's irrelevant. Presumably the Mcs have their reasons for not wanting Madeleine on the site. Not our business. Of course, when they DO seek publicity, as they do regularly, they are criticised for that as well.

They simply can't win. Some people will tear them to pieces whatever they do. They don't let that stop them continuing their search. Must be used to the abuse by now, presumably.

  9. Maybe kate knew the good honest work missing abroad did so did not want to sully their reputation with any of their lies and deception.
amarel knows the truth of the lie and the mccanns know that should they end up in court their story will be ripped to shreds.
Scotland Yard are on a roll since their conviction of Stephen Lawrences killers... Mccanns you are next and all the squalid organisations doing your bidding will be soiled and go down too. That includes you miss PR assistant.

I know a lot of people refuse to believe the parents had anything to do with their daughter's disappearance. You're not alone in this. They're middle class doctors, respectable people, good parents, I've heard it many times. They pay a lot of money to PR agents to come across as sweet and innocent. In reality, they've sued 27 people/organisations for challenging them in even the smallest of ways. They've destroyed lives, marriages, careers with their actions and next week they are taking an OAP to court because they want him jailed and to take his house from him. Not very sweet and innocent from where I'm sitting. Ask yourself why none of these cases have been reported in the newspapers or on news programmes. Isn't that just a bit odd, considering how low the redtop newspapers can stoop? Ask yourself why we only get to hear press statements or positive news from them. Journalists, editors, tv channels are terrified of being the next to be sued. After all, what kind of heartless monster would dare to consider the parents might have a hidden secret or question parents over who it was exactly that died in their holiday apartment, or how their hire car had similar evidence in the boot, despite being hired 5 weeks after the child went missing. Or do you really believe the parents are that unlucky to have these and myriad coincidences happen? Do you believe KM, who said she was still on maternity leave (despite the youngest children being 2 years old) explained the cadaver scent that was found in the apt, car, her holiday clothes and the cuddle cat toy was from when she was working and came into contact with 6 dead patients? Isn't all this just a bit far-fetched?

Look at it this way. If they did want their daughter found, why didn't they simply agree to a reconstruction? That would mean new evidence and lead to reopening the Portuguese files.

As they refused a reconstruction, maybe KM could answer some or all of the 48 questions she originally refused to answer. Again, new evidence and case reopened. Any kind of effort they could make to finally co-operate with the Portuguese police would lead to reopening the case.

One can only read negativity into their reluctance to assist, no matter how many times they assert they want the case reopened in Portugal. It was only shelved because they refused to assist in any way, gave confusing statements and kept changing them etcetera. How could the police use that for their investigation? It would be an horrendous waste of time when there are other parents who'd bend over backwards to help the police find their missing children.

Don't take my word for it, check the official police files, statements, evidence, forensic reports, documents. They're freely available online.

Questioning doesn't make anyone a monster. We can't just ignore crimes because it's not something we'd perceive as 'the right thing to do'. Not everyone is honest when there's something awful gone on. Especially when it's a group of friends who've made a 'pact' and stated the matter was nobody else's business but theirs.

The McCanns Did Not Physically Search for Madeleine.

  12. The will only do something which raises THEIR profile. K & G Mccann are such egotists. They are waiting for a Hollywood film deal!!!!!! I really hope Madelaine gets justice, God bless her. Good luck to Tony Bennett.

  13. Oh man, did I have a laugh @ Anonymous31 January 2013 21:17. Working hard to have the Portuguese investigation reopened! When did they do that?? They could have and still can: guess why it is not reopened: because they never did. They don't want Madeleine to be found otherwise you don't lie. Of course they want the publicity: it is $$$$$ plus they are plain big narcissists.
The gullibility of those McCann worshipers, hilarious!
